Sunny Greetings!

Time flies and it's my last week going on!
Finally summer is coming here in Barcelona and our return flight to Finland is at the end of the month. We have still two weeks here and I dont want to leave...

It is time to move out from the hostel now. I have been so proud of myself that I could stay that long living in the hostel! Actually it has positives and negatives things to live in Equity Point Sea. Every day waking up by the Sea is so nice and just need to come down when have to work. But for too long time like this internship it's little bit too long. When we are having groups or too much party people it is too noisy and impossible to sleep. Because the building is quite old and walls so weak.

The weather has been amazing here, over 20 degrees what means that our Barceloneta beach will be full of people all the time. Also in our Sea hostel we can feel the summer because of cockroaches...
We start to have them a lot and huge ones! My colleague toldme that they are huge, red and flying cockroaches! Earlier I had heard that every summer we have problems because of cockroaches and there is nothing to do. I mean that we have really nice and clean hostel but the building is quite old so those cockroaches and sometimes some rats comes from air conditioning ducts or sink holes. Last week I really saw one and I had to kill it. The funniest thing is that when our customers, swedish girls came to us asking our help, my colleague who is 2meters tall guy couldn't handle it. So I killed it and it really was HUGE! Never seen that huge cockroach before. Then my colleague was so proud of me of cource!

Then I had one friend from Berlin visiting me for one weekend aswell. So I had to be a guide for her. It was mostly beach holiday for her so we just went to the beach and chilled there. Then I also took her to park guell, sangrada familia, Placa de Espanya,la ramblas, etc. She really enjoyed Barcelona.

Anyways I also went to Sneakers festivals this month and I really liked it because there I can buy limited edition shoes and we don't have it in Finland, I think so...

Amazing April!

Hi again, our compiuters are finally working! So this post is about April which was full of happening.
Work was same as always; I did morning shifts starting days with the breakfast. Only difference was that the weather turned warmer that means we started to be busier than earlier. Weather was good, almost 20 degrees and people started to going crazy...especially on the beach. Barcelona is getting hotter that means more tourists are coming to enjoy Barcelona. Of course. Now we are all the time full booked and I get more work and practice in reseption. The most of our customers in hostel now are young people who are having a beach holiday and it's nice to work everyday with sunny people. We just need to remind our customers of thieves and our alcohol policy.

Then I had one day trips while I was having day off. One of the trips was to Roses, Girona. In spanish Rosas. Roses is located in Costa Brava, in Catalonia and it takes 2 and half hours to drive there from Barcelona. We went there by car with my local friends and the place was amazing, so beautiful! So sad that I dont have many pictures of the place but here is some...

And then we went to Tarragona with Elsa and by train. It was a nice day and experience aswell. Tarragona is a port city located in northeast Spain on the Costa Daurada by the Mediterranean Sea. It takes about 1 hour from Barcelona to get there by train. Here I have more photos of Tarragona!

Then San Jordi was also on April and it's s kind of spanish valentines day. On that day everyone was walking holding roses. in their hand. When it's San Jordi men give a women a rose and women give a man a book. This day I had also day off and I spend the day with my best friend here and I got a rose aswell!

In the end of April here is Feria. Feria de abril is small fair came from Andalucian capital of Seville.
I really liked it becausewe don't have this kind of fairs in Finland. I have been there many times with my friends and once with my cousins. Every time we went there was late in the evening and we spent time there until midnight. Playing game was cheap and possibility to win was big! So here you see,,,

This month I had some friends visiting me from Finland. They rented an apartment which was in a nice location, Poble Sec. I had my day offs and I spent my time with them so I moved there to live with them in an apartment. I had to be their guide because this was their first time in Barcelona. We did many things, went to many places and had a lot of fun. But it was hard, everyone was tired everyday. At the first days I had work at the mornings and after that I was with them. The thing is there is too much to do here in Barcelona! Many places like restaurants and activities are open until late midnight. I told them to go to some attractions while I was working, because I didn't wanted to go those attractions I have been.

Greetings from Morocco!

Hi again!!! It sounds that I'm travelling all the time but this time I was having my "real" only vacation. We had one week vacation with Elsa and we decided to travel so we booked tickets to Marrakech and we stayed in Equity Point Marrakech which was really nice. Weather was Ok at the beginning of April, it wasn't too hot outside. Food was good, cheap and different but it wasn't that delicious in my opinion than people said. Morocco as a place was beautiful! I mean it was amazing; nature, buildings, attractions, palm threes and everything. The culture was so different and intresting but people there wasn't that friendly...Most of them were really agressive and they did yell us everything in the streets and wanted just money from us. We were in Marrakech, Dessert and Essaouira and we passed many places during the trip to the Desseart. The whole trip was great and we got lot of new experiences, definitely worth a visit!

We took two days and one night Dessert tour and it cost only around 50 euros per person. The price included buss tickets, two time of camel rides, then dinner and berber breakfast. We slept in a tent during the night and it was my first time ever sleeping *outside*. On the way to Dessert we stopped at many nice places ; Cross Atlas Mountains, Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, Draa Valley and Zagora.

Essaouira is a beach city and about 2 hours away from Marrakech. It is also popular place to visit for turists and it was different and more quiet city than Marrakech. People there were frendlier and more normal. Essaouira was really beautiful and colorful place! We ate there best food in whole Morocco trip and it was kind of falafel tortilla with hummus. Then we also got henna tattoos there for cheap prices.

Now we are back in Barcelona what means that we are back in work aswell. Beeing back feels good because one week of Morocco was enough. We already started to miss BCN. But now it started to be more busy at the work bacause weather is warmer and it is Easter now. We are all the time fully booked and our customers go to the beach in and out....We have much more works to do also because our Sea Bar is open now. It is nice to work here in Sea Point and see from people that summer is coming!

Greetings from Seville!

Hola!

Now I'm having my long weekend free and I can travel a little. I've always wanted to travel to Seville and finally I'm here visiting my relatives for the first time! Sadly now it has been raining here every day and in Barcelona as well. But I don't care because I gonna enjoy my day offs! Despite the rain, Sevilla is a lovely place to visit, amazing buildings, beautiful views and the food is cheaper than Barcelona. 😍😍😘

I have been already in many places: Setas de Sevilla, Plaza de Espanya, Velazquez, La Giralda, Real Alcázar, Canal de Alfonso XIII (and here is some photos)

i Greetings from Sea Point !

Now I have been in Sea Point for two weeks. This hostel is by the sea and I really like this location♥ It is smaller and more quiet place than EQP Centric hostel and that's why working here is more relaxing. And it is not that far away from the city center.

Every morning I wake up by the sunny sea and I start my day at 9am by eating breakfast and helping with the breakfast service. Then the rest of the day I'm just chilling in the reception and helping with different tasks. After work I can do many things here for example enjoying the sun on the beach or on the terrace, having picnic with friends, walking around or running etc.

The only thing i dont like here is living in the hostel for that long time. It is too noisy for me and I don't have enough private space here. Also cooking food here is quite difficult. When I am off I often stay in my friend's place for day or two. It helps a lot! But when I get used to it, it is fine ☺

If you are a friend of food I can give some restaurant tips here:

  1. Delicious fries for 1€-3€ @ Las Frita

2. Really good paellas and mussels (menu del dia) @ Rey de la gamba 2

i Hola Amigos !

Time flies and finally I'm here in Barcelona and today was my first work day in my hostel. Actually I started in Equity Point Centric and one month later I'm gonna move to the Equity Point Sea...I think so!

We arrived with Elsa last Thursday night and I have lived in my aunt's place since yesterday night. We have already walked around the city, shopping and ate tapas, menu del dias etc. Now I live in the same room than Elsa in the hostel, which is in the center of Barcelona. It is very nice and my first day, Monday was quite busy. I had a morning shift so I started that with breakfast. We had small group today so I had to learn things quickly. After the breakfast I move to the reception and then I went to check rooms. In Centric hostel here are 7 floors so it was quite a running between floors. By the way the first day was busy and after work I was very very hungry so we went to nearby restaurant to have a menu del dia.

I should have been done my first post few weeks ago but I have been so so busy so sorry about that hehe☺

Have a sunny day in Finland! | Greetings from Barcelona ❤
